Hi, my name is Rachel Pyles and I am the Director of the Little Lights Child Development Center. I have been the Children’s Ministries Director at the First Baptist Church of Frederick since the Fall of 2003. In 2007 we had the wonderful opportunity to build this facility and move to Bowers Road. This move has been a blessing to us and we have partnered with Waverley Elementary school and the community and have helped with field trips, school supplies, a FREE clothing program, and any other needs that the Waverley community has had. At the same time as our partnership with Waverley we realized that there was an increasing need to provide excellent child care to the children of this community. The decision to begin the LLCDC grew out of this desire to be a light in our community and to ultimately help families with the high cost of child care as well as providing a safe and nurturing place for their child. The beginning of this program is a personal joy to me and I have seen this project through since day one. In the beginning it looked as if this program would never exist and now today with the blessing from our Lord and Savior, we have been able to see this ministry to the community become a reality! My family has been a huge part of this process and they are my support and my joy. My husband is my rock and my biggest fan. He will always be the first one to shovel mulch for the playground or move a refrigerator. The LLCDC and the ministry to families in the Waverley community are my passion. I feel so blessed that God has placed me in this place to serve in this way. I look forward to helping meet the needs of your family. I have an open-door policy and welcome you to stop by.
